Thanksgiving

We had the opportunity to host our first Thanksgiving as a married couple this year. Some of Adam's family and our friends, Ashton and Cory Leckrone, came to visit us and spend the extended Thanksgiving together. Adam and I are so grateful to have such wonderful family and friends. We all had an enjoyable time together doing various activities such as eating, playing LOTS of games, napping, fishing, taking walks, bike rides, playing frisbee golf, celebrating birthdays, and even some shopping! I have tried to capture this weekend in a few pictures below to give you an idea of what we were up to Thanksgiving weekend. We are so incredibly blessed.

Saturday we went out to the Junkin's (a family from church) house to fish, target shoot, eat dinner, and play game. This is me shooting my first gun other than a BB gun!

After church we went to a park and had a picnic. Can you believe we were picnicking at the end of November and it was comfortable, gotta love the south!

Ashton's birthday was Sunday and Andrea's birthday is coming up soon, so we decided to celebrate with a little cookie cake. Happy Birthday!

Career Day

A couple weekends ago we had the privilege of going to a Career Day on base. All morning we sat through various briefings which helped us learn about the different planes, their missions, and the lifestyles that come along with them. Then, after the briefings were over we made our way out to the flight line where we were able to actually see and walk through some of the planes that flew in just for this weekend. It was a really good experience and we were so lucky to be able to have this opportunity. We spent the day with our good friends, Greg and Kelly Smith. We had a blast together :) I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Famous Amos

Yes, we got a kitten. Getting a pet has been a conversation between the both of us for some time and we finally decided to give it a try. We went to the Columbus Humane Society this past Thursday, but didn't find anything that we really fell in love with. Then, on Friday we made our way to the Starkville Humane Society and came home with this little guy we like to call Amos. Amos had been dropped off in a cardboard box on the porch at the Starkville Humane Society with some of his siblings. They weren't able to tell us for sure how old Amos is, but they estimated him to be about six weeks old. He is really tiny, but yes we know he isn't going to stay this small for very long. The good news is that training is going very well; we think we found ourselves a pretty good cat. :) He is very social and loves being with us wherever we are in the house. He has a pretty mild personality, but loves to play. Right now, one of his favorite things to do is to chase his shadow in and out of the bars on the bottom of our coffee tables. Also, as you can see in this picture he loves the laser pointer. This is Amos on Adam's arm waiting to pounce. I must say he has pretty good balance for a little guy.

And Amos LOVES to cuddle up in our laps. We love how social he is and of course as you can see in the pictures below he has a way of getting to our hearts when he crawls on our laps and sprawls out to take a nap :)

Fondue Party

Our good friends Michael and Lindsay Lewis celebrated their one year wedding anniversary this past weekend. God has really blessed us to have them here with us and we look forward to growing in our friendship with them this next year. Adam and I decided to get out our new fondue pot and throw them a little anniversary party. It turned out to be such a wonderful time with all our friends. It was so nice to have everyone standing around the table talking with one another as we waited for our food to cook. We sang "Happy Anniversary" (to the tune of happy birthday) and even had a little singing candle. Lindsay made the cake, it was a delicious banana cake ... it was so good some people even had four pieces!! The fellowship was awesome and again after everyone left, Adam and I sat down and said "we are blessed". We are so fortunate to be able to share our lives with other Christian believers here in Mississippi.
