While I'm Waiting - John Waller

My very best friend, Alyssa, sent this song to me this morning. It could not match what Adam and I are going through right now better. I am so incredibly blessed to have a sister in Christ who shares these things with me.

St. Louis

SO, it has been forever and a day since I last posted something on our blog. I realize that I am way past due for this post but a couple weekends ago Adam and I had the privilege of going to St. Louis for the weekend. We met my mom's side of the family there as well as my brother, Kyle, and his wife, Lisa. We had a wonderful time just visiting and taking in the sights of St. Louis. Here are a few pictures we took of our time there:

On the road

The St. Louis Arch!

Touring the underground museum

Waiting for our little cart to go up to the top of the arch

The tiny little cart all four of us crammed into :)

At the top of the arch...so pretty!

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful extended family!

A day trip to Memphis, TN

One nice thing about the location we live in now is that we have many cities around us that are only a few hours away that we can take a day trip to...one of these is Memphis. So Adam and I decided to take advantage of the short 2 1/2 hour drive there and make a day trip out of it. We started with going to the Memphis Zoo & Aquarium and then ended at a sushi restaurant called Sakura. Even though it was a very hot day to be outside in the sun all day at the zoo, we had such a wonderful time! The sushi experience was fun as well...we had sushi on our honeymoon and loved it but neither of us had ever actually ordered it in a restaurant so that was an adventure, but we were successful in ordering some yummy maki sushi rolls :) All in all, Adam and I were so refreshed from the day away...sometimes it is just good to get out of Columbus, Mississippi!

So after ALL the redlights on our way in, to top it all off we got stuck behind this guy picking up cones the whole way into the entrance of the zoo..haha I can laugh about it now :)

Awww soo cute!

Amos' close relative! :)

This guy was HUGE!

I thought this bird was going to either attack me or do the deed on my head...luckily made it out safe :)

We got to see the Polar Bear feeding...so cool!!

We also got to see the Panda Bear feeding...above is him just chilling and chomping on some bamboo.

We went to the Sea Lion show..impressive!

Big Daddy Weave - Trust and Obey

Ever since the accident, this song keeps popping into my head randomly. I sometimes wonder if its Grandpa Neuenschwander reminding me of this simple truth. It is every time that I hear this song that I miss him and can't help but shed a few tears. This song has become ever so real to me through this difficult time. I hope that it too might speak to you.

Christmas 2009

We were so blessed to be able to go home this Christmas to see family and friends. It was so good for the both of us to be home. It was definitely both relaxing and refreshing, which was exactly what we both needed! I have created a slideshow of some pictures to recap the week in Ohio:

Thanksgiving

We had the opportunity to host our first Thanksgiving as a married couple this year. Some of Adam's family and our friends, Ashton and Cory Leckrone, came to visit us and spend the extended Thanksgiving together. Adam and I are so grateful to have such wonderful family and friends. We all had an enjoyable time together doing various activities such as eating, playing LOTS of games, napping, fishing, taking walks, bike rides, playing frisbee golf, celebrating birthdays, and even some shopping! I have tried to capture this weekend in a few pictures below to give you an idea of what we were up to Thanksgiving weekend. We are so incredibly blessed.

The spread! We had LOTS of leftovers, but they were just as yummy warmed back up :)

The crew for the weekend.

Amos was a spoiled little kitten as he got lots and lots of attention. This picture shows how worn out he got from all the hard play he did all day.

Shopping on Black Friday.

Lunch break from shopping at McAllister's which can be compared to a Panera Bread at home.

Playing some Wheel of Fortune to end the day. This is only one of the MANY games we played throughout the weekend.

Saturday we went out to the Junkin's (a family from church) house to fish, target shoot, eat dinner, and play game. This is me shooting my first gun other than a BB gun!

All of us.

Adam, Josh, and Ron fishing out on the boat.

Sunday morning bike ride.

After church we went to a park and had a picnic. Can you believe we were picnicking at the end of November and it was comfortable, gotta love the south!

The girls!

Nine holes of frisbee golf on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We were so blessed to have wonderful weather all weekend.

Ashton's birthday was Sunday and Andrea's birthday is coming up soon, so we decided to celebrate with a little cookie cake. Happy Birthday!

Make a wish!
